ToggleCo-Polymer fishing line is probably the most underrated product in the whole fishing industry.
This line is fantastic and very affordable as well. But for whatever reason, nobody talks about it, and it can be hard to pick out the best lines.
So let’s go over the 4 best Co-Polymer fishing lines.
Simply put, co-polymer line is two strands of nylon that are twisted together and then coated in fluorocarbon.
Co-polymer is the jack of all trades of fishing lines. It is an all purpose line that doesn’t break the bank.
There is a lot more to it, so if you are interested, read our full breakdown of Co-Polymer fishing line.
P-Line typically sets the standard for fishing line. No matter what kind of fishing line, P-Line always makes very high quality and high performing spools.
P-Line FloroClear is a combination of tough P-Line co-polymer with a fluorocarbon coating that reduces the line’s visibility when immersed in water.
The combination of the two materials enhances the strength of the fluorocarbon line with the addition of the co-polymer and gives the low stretch and abrasion resistance characteristics of fluorocarbon to the co-polymer.
The line diameters are less than P-Line CXX. This line handles quite well even on a spinning reel and can be used in the higher strength ratings even for finesse fishing.
You can never go wrong with P-Line, so it comes in at the number 1 spot.
KastKing is a relatively new fishing brand, but they have grown incredibly quickly because of their high quality products.
The Fluorokote is actually my favorite Co-polymer line that I have used. Part of that is just bias because I really like KastKing as a company.
But the fluorokote is also a very good line. It sinks very, very slowly which makes it much easier to fish topwater or suspending lures because it won’t pull them down.
The KastKing FluoroKote Fluorocarbon Leader Line combines fluorocarbon and co-polymer to create a line that is nearly invisible in the water, enhancing catch rates in clear water.
This blend maximizes fluorocarbon’s invisibility with copolymer’s low memory and castability.
It offers low stretch, high strength, superior abrasion resistance, and reduced visibility, making it a great upgrade from mono lines.
The line’s thinner diameter provides more reel capacity and better depth with diving baits.
The Gamma Co-Polymer line seems to work best in the 20-25 lb tests. I have found that it doesn’t get quite as stiff at higher pound tests.
I don’t use it much for bass fishing, unless I am using big glide baits or swimbaits. But I do really like it for saltwater fishing.
Offering a more natural presentation for your lures thanks to its increased flexibility and invisibility, Gamma High Performance Copolymer Line also delivers greater sensitivity for quicker bite detection.
A great choice for casting or spinning reels, it offers superior line manageability with very little line memory.
As the name implies, this line is speciallized to topwater lures. The main advantge for this is that the line doesn’t really sink at all.
Designed by Major League Fishing pro and 2019 Forrest Wood Cup Champion, Bryan Thrift, the P-Line High Performance Copolymer Topwater Line is the exact line that Bryan used to secure his victory at the Forrest Wood Cup and credited the line in helping him make long precision casts to schooling fish.
Formulated to have low memory and suppleness while maintaining high abrasion resistance and knot strength, the P-Line High Performance Copolymer Topwater Line effortlessly flies off the spool for increased casting distance to give anglers the advantage when throwing their favorite topwater bait.
Co-polymer fishing line is an incredibly versatile and cost-effective option that deserves more recognition in the fishing industry.
Despite its many benefits, such as lower stretch, increased buoyancy, and greater durability compared to other types of fishing lines, it remains underappreciated.
The four best co-polymer lines — P-Line Floroclear, KastKing Fluorokote, Gamma High Performance Co-Polymer, and P-Line High Performance Topwater Line — each offer unique advantages that cater to different fishing needs.
Whether you’re fishing in freshwater or saltwater, targeting bass or using topwater lures, there’s a co-polymer line that can enhance your fishing experience.
Give these lines a try and experience the benefits for yourself.
